Ilocos Norte made September 11 a holiday

PH | Ilocos Norte made September 11 a holiday | MANILA – In honour of the 106th birthday of the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr., Malacaang has made September 11 a special day off for Ilocos Norte.

Proclamation 327, which was signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on Wednesday with the permission of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., said that the holiday would be celebrated.

Bersamin said that the people of Ilocos Norte should be able to celebrate the late president’s birthday.

The proclamation said, “It is right and proper that the people of the Province of Ilocos Norte be given every chance to take part in the event and enjoy the celebration.”

He was born in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, on September 11, 1917.

He led the Philippines as the 10th president.

During his time in office, Marcos Sr. worked to improve the country’s agriculture, schooling, infrastructure, energy production, foreign policy, and relations with other countries.

On September 28, 1989, he died.via PNA)
